The President of the Federal Republic of Germany uses a gold (chrome yellow?) flag with red border and a variation of the black German eagle.

The standard of the federal president (Standarte des Bundespräsidenten) is a golden square with a red border, within it the federal eagle. The border is 1/12 of the flag width. The eagle is very different from the type used in the coat-of-arms and the federal service flag. According to the navy regulation [Marine Dienstvorschrift] MDv 161/1 (Bundesministerium der Verteidigung 1977), the Standarte des Bundespräsidenten (standard of the Federal President) is the personal flag of the President, hoisted on ships where the President is present. On ships flowing the standard of the Federal President no command or distinguishing flags may be hoisted.
